No two children are the same, and each one develops in a unique
way. *Good Times with Child Care* is a guide to use when working
with young children from infancy through school-age. These materials
will help you learn how to care for children and will give you
suggestions that can help them grow and develop in the best way
possible.
The three sections in this publication were written to compliment
each other. Ages and Stages explains what characteristics and
behavior to expect at each age. Special Topics provides information
on health, safety, and discipline. The Activities section offers
activities to plan and gives suggestions on how you can help.
The best way to use these materials is to select an age group
from the first section and use that chapter in conjunction with
an activities chapter of your choice. The chapters in the activities
section will help you "learn by doing". The two chapters
in the Special Topics section apply to all children and should
be read by anyone using these materials.
These materials can be used with preteens, teens, and teen parents
as part of a curriculum, or with other parents, teachers, or day
care providers responsible for the care of children. Use these
materials to best suit your needs and the needs of the child.
These materials were written and developed at Colorado State
University by a team of specialists in child development and parenting.
This publication is sponsored by Cooperative Extension, and the
